Shipmate Summer, Michelle Liao

Our shipmate Michelle Liao was busy this summer! One of sixteen selected Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership scholars and interns, Michelle interned remotely for the National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association. At NAAPIMHA, she conducted literature reviews and drafted policy fact sheets. Michelle also served as the summer Managing Editor of The Michigan Daily, in charge of final edits for the News, Statement, and Michigan in Color sections. When she wasn’t in the newsroom or at a meeting for her internship, Michelle worked as a tour guide for the University of Michigan and as a barista at the Michigan Union Sweetwaters.

Highlights of this summer for Michelle include attending various Ann Arbor events, flying to a conference in Philadelphia, trying at least six different sushi places within a two mile radius from her college house, and finding five mice in said house. We’re glad Michelle had a busy yet fulfilling summer!
