Shipmate Summer, Christina Arnold
This summer, our shipmate Christina Arnold had the incredible opportunity to work remotely as a Scientific Communications Intern for DreamFit Solutions, a consulting firm contracted by the Department of Defense and other government entities in Arlington, VA. During her time there, she supported the development of scientific outreach materials for the government and university-funded research initiatives, and proofread the company’s grant application materials. She also translated complex STEM content into visually engaging infographics and one-pagers for audiences including policymakers, academic leaders, and federal agencies.
In addition to her internship, Christina also volunteered in the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Unit at Michigan Medicine, where she collaborated with nurses to prepare patients for surgery and connected families to the patient following their operations. These experiences were instrumental in advancing her knowledge of the medical world, as she is studying biopsychology and cognitive neuroscience on the pre-medical track to become a pediatrician. When not engaged with these responsibilities, Christina helped her dad establish his small business, traveled around the country to visit family, read some good books and explored new restaurants with her friends. We’re so glad Christina was exposed to such meaningful activities this summer!
